Can Washington Fix the Nation’s Most Urgent Issues?

ABOUT THE EVENT

Join groundbreaking Congressman Max Rose and brilliant writer and lawyer Steve Cohen as we discuss the issues impacting our country. What is the government doing about Covid-19, about racial justice and securing the safety and integrity of the 2020 election. What are the responses, or even lack of responses, to issues we are all facing, at home and around our country.  Cong. Rose recently castigated his own party for not making a deal with Republicans to provide a lifeline for those Americans suffering from the economic downturn. Hear what Cong. Rose thinks needs to be done on major issues and what realistically can get done, and answer why we can’t do better? Can we get anything done in Washington or are we too broken?

Congressman Max Rose

A solider and a congressman all in one. Congressman Max Rose is a freshman Congressman for NY-11. The famously Republican district elected a Democrat back in 2018 and is only the second Democrat to hold the seat since 1981, and the first since then to unseat an incumbent Republican.

During his time in the US Army he lead as a platoon leader in Afghanistan where he received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. In recent months during the Covid-19 pandemic, while given the option to defer, Congressman Rose deployed with the National Guard to help with the NYS response efforts to the Coronavirus.

He currently sits on the Committee on Homeland Security and is the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Intelligence and Counterterrorism.
