October 7th Attack: One Year Later

with

Ambassador Thomas Nides

Former U.S. Ambassador to Israel & Vice Chairman of Blackstone

Moderated by

Richard Salomon

Harvard-trained lawyer & CEO

Monday, October 7th, 4-5 pm ET. On Zoom.

On the one year anniversary of the harrowing October 7th attack on Israel by Hamas, former U.S. Ambassador to Israel and, now, Vice Chairman of Blackstone, Thomas Nides, joins The Common Good for a critical and timely discussion with Harvard-trained lawyer and CEO Richard Salomon. Together, they will examine the current state of Israel and the broader Middle East a year after the attack.

What reflections rise to the surface one year after this attack by Hamas?  What is the status of bringing home the hostages and the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza? What missteps have been made? Could escalations by Israel in Lebanon spark a wider war? What does the future hold for Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu and the upcoming Israeli elections? Is Saudi Arabian recognition of Israel still possible and can the two-state solution of Israel and Palestine be resurrected at some point?

Drawing from his extensive expertise, Ambassador Nides will offer a profound analysis into the aftermath of October 7th and what lies ahead for Israel.
