Almost 6 months after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine the war has progressed into a new stage defined by a renewed counter-offensive where Ukrainian forces have reclaimed swathes of Russian held territory and a loss of Russian manpower to a degree that Putin has ordered a partial mobilization amidst rushed referendums in occupied territory. The commitment of Ukraine’s western allies in sanctions and donated military hardware have led to threats of nuclear escalation as the war continues with no clear end in sight. Amidst these rapidly developing circumstances, we’re bringing together a panel of military experts to explain the situation on the ground, outline the current geopolitical implications, and what where the outcomes of this fighting might lead.
