Governor of Washington State, 2020 presidential candidate

Governor Jay Inslee has led the State of Washington since 2013 and has made fighting climate change his number one priority in his presidential campaign. As governor, he has enacted policies that make Washington a national leader in clean energy, clean air and clean water. He created a new Clean Energy Fund that has invested over $100 million in developing innovative energy techniques and growing clean energy jobs, as well as the Clean Energy Institute at the University of Washington, which is pioneering research into next-generation renewable energy technologies like solar and battery storage. Prior to his governorship, Inslee represented Washington’s 1st and 4th Districts in the House, where he voted against the Iraq War and championed investments to grow America’s clean energy industries.

Former U.S. House Representative for the 4th Congressional District of Utah

Ludmya "Mia" Love served as House Representative for the 4th congressional district of Utah from 2015 to early 2019. Prior to her election as House Representative, she was the Mayor of Saratoga Springs from 2010 to 2014. She graduated college with a degree in musical theater but became a community spokesperson due to her desire to make a change in the neighborhood she lived in. Love went on to continue her political career by winning a seat in the Saratoga Springs council and then went on to become mayor. She is the first black female Republican elected to Congress, and is currently a contributor at CNN.

Love participated in The Common Good Forum & American Spirit Awards, 2019 on May 10, 2019. She spoke on the “Women & Power” panel alongside former Alessandra Stanley, Sally Quinn, and Kay Koplovitz, moderated by Juju Chang.

Errol Louis is the Political Anchor of Spectrum News NY1, where he hosts Inside City Hall, a nightly primetime show about New York City politics. As part of the show, he interviews top political and cultural leaders, including an exclusive weekly one-on-one conversation with Mayor Bill de Blasio.

Louis has also conducted interviews with ex-mayors David Dinkins, Rudy Giuliani and Michael Bloomberg; Gov. Andrew Cuomo and ex-governors George Pataki, Eliot Spitzer and David Paterson; dozens of city, state and federal officials, and presidential candidates including John Kasich, Jill Stein, Gary Johnson, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Louis has moderated more than two dozen debates between candidates for mayor, public advocate, city and state comptroller, state Attorney General and U.S. Senate. Retired Air Force Major General

Dr. Robert H. Latiff retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Major General in 2006. He is an Adjunct Faculty Member with the John J. Reilly Center for Science, Technology, and Values at the University of Notre Dame, and is a Research Professor at George Mason University. Major General Latiff is also a member of the Committee on International Security and Arms Control of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine and the Intelligence Community Studies Board.

Bret Stephens is an op-ed columnist and associate editor for the New York Times. He previously worked for the Wall Street Journal, where he served concurrently as foreign-affairs columnist, deputy editorial page editor and member of the editorial board. Prior to that he was editor-in-chief of the Jerusalem Post, a position he assumed in 2002 at the age of 28. Mr. Stephens has degrees from the University of Chicago and the London School of Economics, as well as three honorary doctorates.

Philip C. Bobbitt is the Herbert Wechsler Professor of Federal Jurisprudence and director for the Center for National Security at Columbia Law School. He is one of the nation’s leading constitutional theorists. Bobbitt’s interests include not only constitutional law but also international security and the history of strategy. He has served as a law clerk to the Honorable Henry J. Friendly, associate counsel to the president, the Counselor on International Law at the State Department, legal counsel to the Senate Iran-Contra Committee, and Senior Director for Critical Infrastructure and Senior Director for strategic planning at the National Security Council.

Lawrence Rocks is a world renowned chemist, energy expert, and author, and he was instrumental in the creation of the US Department of Energy during the Carter administration.

Dr. Rocks has been featured in Time Magazine, and National Review. He has addressed the United Nations, appeared on the Today Show, To Tell The Truth, The Mike Douglas Show and the column in King Features Syndicate.

Dr. Rock’s book, The Energy Crisis, was widely acclaimed by both television and print media, and he was featured as an energy expert in the New York Times. His work has been cited by the Environmental Protection Agency, The Transportation Research Board, and academic journals, such as Ecology Law Quarterly. John McCain ✝

Former U.S. Senator from Arizona

John Sidney McCain III was a senator, soldier, and 2008 presidential nominee. As a young man in his twenties, he enlisted in the US Navy to follow in the footsteps of his father. He was deployed in Vietnam and ended his military service with the rank of Captain. During his tour in Vietnam, he was captured and was a prisoner of war for five and a half years.

McCain went on to become a House Representative for Arizona’s 1st congressional district in 1982 and was re-elected in 1984. McCain began his first term in the Senate in 1987. He went on to win five more terms all the way until 2018. McCain was the Republican nominee for the 2008 election running against Democratic nominee Barack Obama.

Senator McCain was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2017 and passed away on August 25th, 2018.

Senator John McCain was awarded the American Spirit Award for Distinguished Public Service by Chele Chiavacci Farley at The Common Good Forum & American Spirit Awards 2017.

Bill Kristol

Founder and Editor of The Weekly Standard

Bill Kristol is a political analyst and the Founder and Editor of the political magazine The Weekly Standard. He is known for his neo-conservatism and frank approach to issues.

Kristol taught political philosophy and American politics at the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government before joining the Reagan administration. He eventually became Chief of Staff to the Vice President in the George H. W. Bush administration. Kristol has played a major role in the debate on American foreign policy since September 11th, and served as a foreign policy advisor for Senator John McCain’s presidential campaign.

Kristol is associated with a number of prominent conservative think tanks. He co-founded the Project for the New American Century and is a member of the board of trustees for the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research, the Policy Advisory Board for the Ethics and Public Policy Center, and a director of the Foreign Policy Initiative.

David Miliband is President and CEO of the International Rescue Committee (IRC), where he oversees the agency’s humanitarian relief operations in more than 30 war-affected countries and its refugee resettlement and assistance programs in 25 United States cities.

From 2007 to 2010, Miliband was the 74th Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom, driving advancements in human rights and representing the U.K. throughout the world. In 2006, as Secretary of State for the Environment, he pioneered the world’s first legally binding emissions reduction requirements. He was Member of Parliament for South Shields from 2001 to 2013.

Jim Miller is the Executive Director for Brave New Foundation. He joined the company when the Foundation was initially formed by putting together the coalition of over 100 groups (including Amnesty International, MoveOn True Majority, and Voters For Peace) to push their unique system of distributuion and house screenings for Iraq For Sale. Since then Jim has strengthened their distribution coalition so that their short videos now get 1.5 million views per month. His film experience began over 20 years ago working on the film Bull Durham and includes being the Director of Development for The Shooting Gallery, an independent film company which produced ‘Sling Blade’ and ‘You Can Count on Me’, and Head of Acquisitions for Cinema Park Distribution.

Eisenberg is the co-author, with Burt Neuborne, of the Rights of Candidates and Voters and has published numerous law review articles. Eisenberg contributed an essay on issues of faith and conscience in the book Engaging Cultural Differences, and an essay on military tribunals for the book It’s a Free Country.

Patricia Gatling was the Commissioner and Chair of the New York City Commission on Human Rights until 2015. Gatling is now counsel at Windels Marx Lane & Mittendorf, LLP.

As Commissioner, Gatling was in charge of enforcing the Human Rights Law and combating discrimination in New York City. She also worked as a senior trainer with John Jay College, teaching '“Human Dignity and the Law” in newly emerging democratic countries, such as Botswana and Thailand. Previously, Ms. Gatling served as First Assistant District Attorney at the Kings County District Attorney’s Office. She is an active participant in community outreach programs and a widely respected speaker.

For her unending public service, Ms. Gatling has received numerous awards throughout her career.
